Something for the kids

Hi Everyone,

In my ongoing attempts to use up prestamped images and scraps of paper (like I'm sure many papercrafters have piling up!) I've made some bookmarks.

These are all kid-orientated bookmarks with the images from the "Fox and Friends' stamp set. They've been stamped in bright fresh colours like Pacific Point, Wild Wasibi, Melon Mambo and Summer Sun (retired) on Whisper White card.

There's loads styles of bookmarks around, but I don't see many kids ones.

These will be on my stall at the upcoming Craft Thyme Fair on March 19th. I'm super excited about going back to Craft Thyme for my second stall with Andrea!!

Two posts in 2 days!

Hi Everyone,

As promised I'm back with another card I made yesterday arvo.... I guess it's loosely based on the Clean & Simple sketch from yesterday's post but I had an extra mojo boost from the Stampin' Royalty #59 challenge to "Mark It Up" and pulled out some of my Stampin' Write markers.

I've tried something a little different, as once I'd coloured my stamp, I spritzed some water over it, giving the stamped image a softer watercoloured effect. (I'm sure there's probably a proper name for this technique so if you know it, please refresh my memory!)

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think :)

And Stampin' Up! have advised they raised $11,862 to be donated to the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund which is AMAZING when you think it was just $2 / stamp set, which means A LOT of stamps were sold! Good on you Stampin' Up!!!

Yay I had stamping time today!!

Hi Everyone,

I was pretty happy today as I managed to sit down and do some stamping! Ahhh it was much needed!

But the issue was what to stamp? I had some free time yesterday and chose to watch the "Twilight" movie instead. I hadn't seen any of the movies however I had read all the books last year. And I also need to add that my imagination created a way better Edward! Sorry to any 'movie Edward' fans...

Well onto my search for some mojo... I decided to visit a couple of challenge blogs that I like and decided to start with the Clean and Simple Sketch # 127

This card came together really quickly!! And you can see I've really really stuck to the sketch - ie: button in the sketch, button on my card lol :)

This card also fits with a request for some unisex b'day cards at my next class (March 11th for anyone who's interested), so you may see some different versions of it over the coming weeks whilst I play around and work out the class. All the class details can be found here on my facebook page.

Well I'll be back over the weekend to show off the other cards :)

My first top note mini album

Hi Everyone,

This afternoon I finished off my first ever top note mini album. Consisting of 10 pages, in very vanilla & melon mambo, this album is the perfect size for a brag book or similar in a handbag (your's or grandma's) or a gift for a friend.

I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I saw the idea on Gardenia's site but I've made this with my own colours and layout.

I've left the final page plain, I thought it would be good to write a little message or similar on it.

If anyone is interested, I would love to make you one of these in a colour scheme of your choice....

This is my Valentine's Day class creation.... I've also decided to enter it into the Stampin' Royalty Challenge  #58 to create a project using hearts hearts hearts. Soooo for some reason I'm pretty sure this matches the requirements.

Card and Chocolate Block Cover -mmmm chocolate!

Card by itself
I've used the 'inset embossing' technique for this card and you just can't go wrong with real red, whisper white and night of navy together - love my Stampin' Up! colours!!!

Also, time's running out to help out the QLD SES via Stampin' Up!'s donation. Remember, any stamp set over $30, Stampin' Up! will give a donation to the QLD SES to help recover from the floods.

Clean and simple for Dad's B'day

Hi Everyone,

There's nothing like leaving things til almost the last minute is there? lol. Tonight I remembered I'd better make a b'day card for my Dad's birthday tomorrow. He's turning .... nah I'd better not say..

Anyway, I've been trying to think of something to make for him for a while and realised that the Clean and Simple Sketch would work.

This is my card:

I've used chocolate chip ink and clear embossed the sentiment. I'm loving my embossing at the moment! The designer series paper is actually some retired Christmas papers...

4 years ago, I started on a journey....

Hi all,

Four years ago I started on a journey with Stampin' Up! For those that don't know, or are new to my blog, I joined SU in 2007 whilst on maternity leave after having my first daughter.

Since leaving school, I'd looked at a few different options/hobbies to do something a bit extra with myself and found Stampin' Up via Lee-Anne. I was hooked! I loved the idea of combining my passion for crafting, with something to earn a little extra cash along the way.

I'm proud to say that I'm still a Stampin' Up! demo and I'm still loving it!! My goal this year is to build my little business and develop some new friends through it. And I'd love to have my own team of demos too! (hint hint anyone? lol)

Now to celebrate my anniversary, I've compiled a little flyer (I got this flyer idea from another demo Monique) and it's a great starting point for anyone looking at starting stamping or wanting to update their crafting stash. So if you click on this image, you can see what's on offer:

I'm a guest blogger!!

Hi Everyone,

Yes that's right, I'm a guest blogger. I saw a callout from Des at Backpacks 4 Aussie Kids who was looking for a crafty/cooking person to make a few blog posts over the coming months. I wrote an email and to my surprise it was accepted! How exciting!!

You can check out my first post here!! It's a basic craft activity for kids but lots of fun for them and easy to adapt for all ages, I did it with Miss 2.5 and Miss 4 the other day.
